Stainless Steel 904L Bars and Rods are made up of 19–23% chromium, 23–28% nickel, 4–5% molybdenum, 1–2% copper, and a minimal carbon content (max 0.02%). This distinctive alloy composition grants outstanding resistance to sulfuric, phosphoric, and acetic acids, as well as to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-rich settings. The mechanical properties include a tensile strength ranging from 490–710 MPa, a yield strength of about 220 MPa, and impressive elongation and toughness. In its annealed state, 904L is non-magnetic and maintains excellent formability and weldability, even in corrosive and high-temperature industrial conditions.
