Luois Metals supplies Stainless Steel 13‑8 Mo bars and rods from Houston, representing a new precipitation-hardening alloy of increased strength and corrosion resistance. With increased molybdenum and nickel content, this grade delivers phenomenal mechanical properties rivaling those of maraging steels but with stainless corrosion resistance. 13‑8 Mo is produced to AMS 5865 and ASTM A693 standards in tempers H900–H1150 and varied sizes. 13‑8 Mo contains ~13% chromium, ~8% nickel, ~2% molybdenum, plus additions of aluminum, titanium, and niobium. In H1025 condition, tensile strengths are about 1,345 MPa, yield strengths about 1,205 MPa, and elongation is 5–8%. Hardness 45–53 HRC. This alloy shows superior corrosion resistance in marine and chemical exposures and good ductility and good weldability. Conforms to AMS 5865 / ASTM A693 requirements for precipitation-hardening stainless steels.
