Vipul Sheets and Plates supplies high-quality Stainless Steel 316 Bars and Rods in Delhi, India. These products offer durable solutions for corrosive and high-temperature environments. SS 316 is a molybdenum-bearing stainless steel known for its improved resistance to chlorides, making it ideal for marine and chemical applications. We provide 316 rods in various lengths, diameters, and finishes tailored to specific industry standards. Our stainless steel bars ensure high strength, excellent machinability, and long service life. Vipul’s precision-engineered SS 316 products meet strict quality requirements across industries, including construction, food processing, shipbuilding, and pharmaceuticals.
SS 316 contains 16 to 18% Chromium, 10 to 14% Nickel, and 2 to 3% Molybdenum, with ≤0.08% Carbon. It offers a tensile strength of 515 to 690 MPa, yield strength of around 205 MPa, and elongation of about 40%. The molybdenum boosts resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in saltwater and acidic environments. SS 316 is non-magnetic when annealed and retains strength at high temperatures. It shows good weldability and formability and is suitable for both hot and cold working. Its mechanical and corrosion-resistant properties make it ideal for structural and fluid-handling systems.

Stainless Steel 316 contains molybdenum, which enhances its resistance to pitting and corrosion, especially in chloride-rich environments, making it perfect for marine, chemical processing, and food industry applications.
Yes, Stainless Steel 316 is highly weldable and is commonly used in welding-intensive applications. Its low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation, ensuring strong, durable welds.
Stainless Steel 316 offers superior corrosion resistance compared to other alloys like 304, especially in aggressive environments like seawater and harsh chemicals, thanks to its molybdenum content.
Stainless Steel 316 Bars and Rods are common in marine applications, such as boat fittings, propeller shafts, and seawater piping systems. They are essential in chemical processing for reactors, tanks, and heat exchangers due to their corrosion resistance. In the food and beverage industries, they are used for processing equipment, storage vessels, and utensils. Architectural uses include railings, cladding, and fixtures exposed to moisture and pollutants. SS 316 rods also serve in pharmaceutical manufacturing, pulp and paper mills, textile machinery, and pollution control systems. Their durability, hygiene, and high-temperature stability make them versatile across many sectors.
