Hastelloy is a family of nickel-based superalloys with different compositions of molybdenum, chromium, iron, and cobalt. C‑276 (Ni–Cr–Mo–W) is resistant to corrosion, B2/B3 are Ni–Mo with low Cr well-suited for concentrated acids, and X is Ni–Cr–Fe with tungsten as an additive. Mechanical properties are variable: tensile strength 600–1000 MPa, yield strength 250–600 MPa, elongation 30–60%, and hardness 160–250 HB. They are strong at high temperatures (up to ~1000 °C), are pitting-resistant, stress corrosion cracking-resistant, and act in both oxidizing and reducing conditions.
