446 Stainless Steel has 23.0–27.0% Chromium and extremely low carbon (maximum 0.20%). It provides superior resistance against oxidation, sulfidation, and scaling at temperatures up to 2200°F (1204°C). Its yield strength is generally 276 MPa, tensile strength approximately 485 MPa, and is non-hardenable by heat treatment. It has low room temperature strength but is satisfactory for high-temperature corrosive service.
