Our 446 hex bars are precision-machined to meet the toughest industrial standards. Renowned for their strength, oxidation resistance, and longevity, these bars find their place in furnaces, thermal processing equipment, and chemical plants. At Louis Metals, we guarantee top-quality, reliability, and speedy delivery for all your stainless steel forging and bar requirements.
Stainless Steel 446 Hex Bar is composed of 23–27% chromium, up to 0.20% carbon, 1.5% manganese, 1.0% silicon, along with trace amounts of molybdenum and sulfur. As a ferritic stainless steel, it showcases remarkable resistance to oxidation, sulfidation, and scaling at temperatures soaring up to 1100°C (2012°F). This alloy boasts a tensile strength ranging from approximately 485–620 MPa and a yield strength of around 275 MPa. While it isn’t heat-treatable, it maintains impressive dimensional stability even at high temperatures. The 446’s ability to resist thermal fatigue and corrosion in harsh environments makes it perfect for components in furnaces and exhaust systems.
