Stainless Steel 317L Hex Bars/Rods are low-carbon austenitic stainless steels containing Chromium (18–20%), Nickel (11–15%), Molybdenum (3–4%), and up to 0.03% Carbon. The additional molybdenum improves resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chemical attack, particularly in chlorided-rich or acidic media. The bars provide a tensile strength of 515–760 MPa, yield strength of approximately 205 MPa, and high ductility and formability. SS 317L is non-magnetic in the annealed state and resists sensitization, and hence it is appropriate for welding and high-integrity use in aggressive service conditions.
