This alloy offers moderate tensile strength (up to 450 MPa) and a yield strength of about 205 MPa, along with good ductility and cold workability. It’s magnetic, boasts excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and maintains its mechanical stability in oxidizing environments. While SS 430 hex bars can’t be hardened through heat treatment, they can be cold worked to enhance strength. Additionally, this alloy provides good scaling resistance up to 815°C (1500°F).
