Grade 1 is the most ductile and soft among all commercially pure titanium grades. It is best for uses requiring high weldability, impact strength, and chemical durability over a long period of time. Our Grade 1 titanium bars are produced with superior surface finish and dimensional tolerance, useable in marine, chemical, and medical applications. At Louis Metals, we guarantee all products to meet ASTM B348 specifications and go through rigorous quality checks to adhere to our customers‘ precise requirements.
Our Titanium Grade 1 Bars and Rods consist of more than 99.5% pure titanium with minute traces of oxygen, iron, and nitrogen. This grade provides superior corrosion resistance in oxidizing and reducing environments. It exhibits a tensile strength of ~240 MPa, yield strength of ~170 MPa, and excellent ductility. Grade 1 titanium is not magnetic, light in weight, and possesses a high melting point (~1660°C). Its low density (4.51 g/cm³) and high elongation (~24%) facilitate ease of forming, welding, and machining. These characteristics render it ideal for use in applications where corrosion resistance and flexibility are paramount.
