904L flat bars comprise 19–23% chromium, 23–28% nickel, 4–5% molybdenum, and 1–2% copper. The low-carbon steel contains tensile strength of 490–710 MPa and yield strength of approximately 220 MPa. It is weldable, not magnetic, and extremely resistant to crevice corrosion, pitting, and stress corrosion cracking. 904L is not affected by sub-zero temperatures in terms of toughness and is well suited for conditions where there are strong reducing acids.
