Stainless Steel 416 Flat Bar is a martensitic free-machining stainless steel with increased sulfur content for better machinability. It has 12–14% chromium and trace amounts of manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur. It has mechanical properties such as tensile strength of 550–700 MPa, yield strength of 275 MPa, and elongation of around 15%. The grade is magnetic and can be hardened through heat treatment to enhance resistance to wear. Its flat profile provides structural uniformity and is ideal for components requiring both strength and accuracy of dimensions. Stainless Steel 416 is suitable for high-precision machining with low tool wear.
