The addition of molybdenum greatly boosts corrosion resistance, particularly in saltwater and acidic settings. SS 316 offers a tensile strength of 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of about 40%. It exhibits excellent mechanical properties at high temperatures and weldability.
