Stainless Steel 316L Flat Bar is a low carbon, molybdenum alloyed austenitic stainless steel with a composition of around 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. The lower carbon content reduces carbide precipitation during welding, improving corrosion resistance of welded structures. These bars provide a tensile strength of approximately 485 MPa, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation of approximately 40%. 316L is non-magnetic in the annealed form and possesses good weldability, formability, and pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride-enriched or marine environments. Its flat form offers equal thickness, so it is applicable to both structural and aesthetic purposes.
