Stainless Steel 317 Flat Bar is a molybdenum-containing austenitic stainless steel containing about 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum by chemical composition. This alloy exhibits high resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chemical attack in both acidic and chloride-rich environments. Mechanical properties are tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of approximately 35%. Stainless Steel 317 does not possess magnetic properties when annealed in condition and has good weldability and formability. Flat profile guarantees balanced loading, and hence it is preferably utilized in fabrication, structural support, and machining precision jobs.
