Louis Metals, a trusted stainless steel manufacturer and supplier located in Houston, USA, proudly offers top-quality Stainless Steel 446 Flat Bars, engineered for outstanding performance in high-temperature and highly corrosive settings. SS 446 is a ferritic, heat-resistant stainless steel known for its remarkable resistance to oxidation and scaling at temperatures reaching up to 1100°C (2012°F). Our 446 flat bars are crafted with precision to meet ASTM standards, making them perfect for use in furnaces, heat exchangers, kilns, and thermal processing equipment. Louis Metals provides durable, corrosion-resistant flat bars tailored to the needs of the power generation, metallurgical, and petrochemical sectors.
Stainless Steel 446 Flat Bar consists of 23–27% chromium, along with low carbon content (maximum 0.20%) and trace amounts of molybdenum, silicon, and manganese. This high chromium level ensures excellent resistance to oxidation, sulfidation, and thermal fatigue. Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength ranging from 485 to 750 MPa, a yield strength of about 275 MPa, and a Brinell hardness of roughly 170 to 220 HB. While it can’t be hardened through heat treatment, 446 maintains impressive structural integrity even in extreme temperatures and corrosive environments, especially those containing sulfur compounds or chlorides.
