Stainless Steel 347 Square Bars and Rods are produced using a columbium (niobium)-stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloy with 17–19% chromium and 9–13% nickel. This alloy offers good resistance to intergranular corrosion, especially after welding, and renders the material suitable for service at high temperatures. The bars provide tensile strength of around 485 MPa, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation of around 40%. The square profile provides structural uniformity and is simple to machine, weld, and fabricate. Stainless Steel 347 is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and maintains its mechanical properties in thermal cycling applications.
