Aluminium 7075 has 5.6–6.1% Zinc, 2.1–2.5% Magnesium, 1.2–1.6% Copper, and traces of Chromium. The heat-treatable alloy has tensile strength up to 570 MPa and yield strength of about 480 MPa in T6 condition. It is good in fatigue strength and machinability but poor in weldability. T73 temper provides improved stress corrosion resistance. 7075 has the strength to weight ratio, usually greater than mild steel.
