Louis Metals manufactures excellent quality Aluminium 6063 Forgings in Houston, having a superior surface finish and corrosion resistance for structural and architectural purposes. 6063 is referred to as an “architectural alloy“ and is suitable for elements that need both form and strength. Our forgings meet ASTM B247 and are supplied in custom forms, which are best suited for railings, piping systems, and sea parts. With great anodizing properties and fair strength, Aluminium 6063 is the choice where appearance, light weight, and resistance to corrosion are most important.
6063 has 0.2–0.6% Silicon and 0.45–0.9% Magnesium. In T6 condition, it provides tensile strength of 190–240 MPa and yield strength of 140–200 MPa. It has good corrosion resistance, especially in sea and humid conditions. 6063 forgings are readily formable, weldable, and machinable. This non-heat-treatable alloy is prized for its brilliant, smooth finish, anodizing, and decorative uses.

The forging process for Aluminium 5082 typically takes between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the complexity of the part, size, and the specific forging method used.
Aluminum 5082 offers high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability, and enhanced fatigue resistance, making it ideal for custom forgings in marine, aerospace, and structural applications.
Aluminum 5082's workability, characterized by good machinability and medium strength, allows for easy shaping during forging. However, its relatively low work hardening rate may require careful temperature control.
6063 Forgings are suitable for architectural framing, piping, window and door frames, curtain walls, and handrails. It‘s also employed in automotive trim, marine fittings, and recreational equipment. Owing to its surface finish, it is used in lighting fixtures, signs, and consumer goods. In infrastructure, it’s employed for pedestrian bridges and fencing. Its corrosion resistance and formability qualities make it ideal for uses requiring both functionality and aesthetics.
