Stainless Steel 316L Hollow Bar is a molybdenum-bearing low-carbon austenitic stainless steel with around 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. The low carbon level improves resistance to sensitization upon welding, and it is suitable for welded applications. It has a tensile strength of approximately 485 MPa, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation of approximately 40%. Its hollow shape keeps weight low with outstanding strength and corrosion resistance. 316L is non-magnetic in the annealed state and is highly weldable, formable, and resistant to crevice corrosion and pitting in chloride environments.
