Luois Metals offers EN‑45 medium-carbon, nickel-alloyed steel bars to customers in the manufacturing industry within Houston and the entire country. The bars, manufactured according to ASTM A514 and BS 970 specifications, undergo meticulous inspection to provide high-quality alloy steel performance. EN‑45 provides increased strength and hardness without sacrificing machinability compared to basic carbon steel. Provided in a range of sizes and tempers, EN‑45 bars are suitable for structural, mechanical, and abrasion-resistant applications. Luois Metals facilitates quick delivery, test certificates, and technical support to aid in enterprise-level projects in heavy machinery, earthmoving plant equipment, and pressure vessel manufacturing.
EN‑45 steel contains about 0.43–0.50% carbon, 1.10–1.40% manganese, and 1.20–1.60% nickel; in addition to trace amounts of chromium and molybdenum. The alloy attains tensile strength of 700–850 MPa, yield strength of 450–550 MPa, with elongation of about 12–16%. It possesses Brinell hardness of 200–250 HB. Nickel increases toughness, even in cold applications. EN‑45 accommodates heat treatment such as quenching and tempering, resulting in maximum hardness and resilience. It satisfies ASTM and BS standards, making it suitable for structural, mechanical, and welded assemblies.
