Louis Metals provides premium Stainless Steel XM19 Forgings (Nitronic 50) from its Houston plant to meet demanding applications that involve higher strength and corrosion resistance. XM19 (UNS S20910) is high-strength austenitic stainless steel with outstanding pitting, crevice, and chloride stress corrosion resistance. Our forgings are manufactured in accordance with modern forging practices and satisfy or surpass ASTM A182 and ASTM A276 standards. Being endowed with high yield strength as well as excellent weldability, XM19 is best suited for challenging environments in the marine, chemical, and aerospace industries. XM19 consists of 20–23.5% chromium, 11–13% nickel, 4–6% manganese, 1.5–3% molybdenum, and nitrogen (0.2–0.4%). It possesses tensile strength up to 965 MPa and yield strength of over 690 MPa — twice that of 316 stainless steel. XM19 has good toughness and non-magnetic characteristics even at low temperatures. It also demonstrates high resistance to corrosion in saltwater and acid conditions, with satisfactory fatigue strength.
