Vipul Sheets and Plates is a trusted distributor of Stainless Steel 310S Forgings in Delhi, India. SS 310S is a low-carbon version of SS 310, which exhibits excellent resistance to high temperature, weldability, and oxidation. These forgings are ideal for environments where elevated temperatures and aggressive atmospheres are common, such as in furnaces, kilns, and heat treatment equipment. We manufacture 310S forged rings, discs, blocks, and custom shapes that meet international standards. Vipul ensures superior grain structure, tight tolerances, and mechanical integrity, delivering high-performance forging solutions for critical thermal and chemical process industries.
SS 310S contains 24–26% Chromium, 19–22% Nickel, and ≤0.08% Carbon. The composition is improved in terms of oxidation and scaling resistance up to 1100°C. Forged SS 310S has tensile strength of 520 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and high elongation (~40%). It has very good toughness and strength at high temperatures. Improved weldability and minimizing the likelihood of precipitation of carbides are characteristics provided by low carbon content. These forgings possess excellent creep resistance and are best utilized in continuous high-temperature processes involving corrosion resistance and structural integrity.

To assess the forging strength of Stainless Steel 310S for aerospace, perform mechanical testing such as tensile, hardness, and fatigue tests to ensure it meets required specifications for high-temperature and stress-resistance.
The most suitable forging techniques for Stainless Steel 310S include open-die forging and closed-die forging, which offer excellent control over shape and material properties, ensuring strength and durability.
To improve the surface finish of forged Stainless Steel 310S parts, employ methods like machining, polishing, abrasive blasting, or electropolishing to achieve a smooth, corrosion-resistant surface.
Stainless Steel 310S Forgings are used to a large extent in continuous high-temperature industrial processes including furnace parts, radiant tubes, burner components, and combustion chambers. These are also utilized in thermal processing units, heat exchangers, reformers, and power plant equipment. Their thermal cycling and oxidation resistance properties qualify them for use in boiler parts, muffles, and kiln liners. The low carbon grade provides improved weldability, which makes them perfect for intricate assemblies in petrochemical and metallurgical facilities. SS 310S forgings are also applied to gas turbines, incinerators, and food processing equipment that must perform uniformly under heat stress.
