It provides tensile strength of 485–620 MPa and yield strength of ~170 MPa with elongation of ~40%. The alloy contains high ductility, weldability, and toughness. It is not magnetic in the annealed state and retains performance over a broad temperature range. 304L forgings can be easily shaped and formed, and are well-suited for sanitary, structural, and pressure-handling applications.
