Louis Metals, a reliable stainless steel manufacturer and supplier based in Houston, USA, specializes in high-performance Stainless Steel 446 Rectangular Bars, designed to withstand extreme heat and corrosive conditions. SS 446 is a ferritic, high-chromium stainless steel celebrated for its outstanding resistance to oxidation, sulfidation, and scaling at high temperatures. Perfect for the thermal and chemical processing industries, our 446 rectangular bars comply with ASTM specifications and come in a variety of sizes. With a commitment to precision, durability, and metallurgical integrity, Louis Metals provides 446 rectangular bars that consistently perform well in high-temperature industrial applications.
Stainless Steel 446 Rectangular Bars are composed of 23–27% chromium, featuring a low carbon content (maximum 0.20%) along with trace elements of manganese, silicon, and molybdenum. This ferritic alloy cannot be hardened through heat treatment, yet it maintains its strength and formability even at temperatures above 1000°C (1832°F). Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength ranging from 485 to 750 MPa, a yield strength of about 275 MPa, and a Brinell hardness of roughly 170 to 220 HB. SS 446 is known for its excellent resistance to thermal cycling, oxidation, and high-sulfur environments, making it an ideal choice for extended exposure to extreme heat and corrosive industrial settings.
