Stainless Steel 317L Rectangular Bars are low-carbon austenitic stainless steels with a 18–20% Chromium, 11–15% Nickel, 3–4% Molybdenum, and less Carbon (max 0.03%) composition. The presence of added Molybdenum improves resistance against pitting and crevice corrosion, particularly in chloride-rich environments. These bars have a tensile strength of 515–760 MPa, yield strength of approximately 205 MPa, and good ductility and toughness. SS 317L is not magnetic in the annealed form and retains its corrosion resistance and strength even after stress-relieving or welding. It is suitable for corrosive and high-temperature environments demanding better metallurgical stability.
