Stainless Steel 316 Rectangular Bars are molybdenum-containing austenitic stainless steels consisting of Chromium (16–18%), Nickel (10–14%), Molybdenum (2–3%), and Carbon (up to 0.08%). The presence of molybdenum greatly increases resistance to corrosion in sea and acidic conditions. These bars provide a tensile strength between 515–700 MPa and yield strength of about 205 MPa. SS 316 is not magnetic in the annealed state and has good formability, weldability, and mechanical strength.
