Stainless Steel 416 Round Bar Rods are produced from a free-machining martensitic stainless steel with a typical composition of 12–14% chromium and a controlled sulfur content for improved machinability. The bars have a tensile strength of 550–700 MPa, yield strength of approximately 275 MPa, and elongation of approximately 15%. 416 stainless is magnetic when in the annealed and hardened states and is readily heat treated for hardness and wear enhancement. These round bars and rods possess smooth finishes, close dimensional tolerance, and are well suited for turning, milling, and other machining processes that call for tight tolerances and hardness.
