Louis Metals offers high–grade Super Duplex Steel Round Bars designed to satisfy the demands of industries that require high strength, corrosion resistance, and durability. These round bars have the strength of ferritic steel coupled with the toughness and ductility of austenitic steel, and are highly resistant to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. Our Super Duplex Steel Round Bars are engineered to precise specifications and conform to stringent quality requirements for demanding applications in industries like marine, chemical processing, power generation, and oil & gas. With Louis Metals, you can depend on sturdy products that provide excellent performance in the most challenging environments.
Super Duplex Steel Round Bars contain around 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, 7% nickel, and trace amounts of nitrogen, copper, and tungsten. The alloy attains a high tensile strength (~550–800 MPa), good resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. With a hardness of 250 to 300 HB and excellent weldability, these bars have structure integrity even under harsh conditions. Super Duplex Steel Round Bars are also highly resistant to oxidation at high temperatures (up to 300°C), guaranteeing sound performance in marine, chemical processing, and oil & gas applications.

Yes, Super Duplex Steel Round Bars can withstand moderately high temperatures but are not ideal for prolonged use above 300°C, as this may reduce their corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
Yes, Super Duplex Steel Round Bars are highly recyclable. Their materials, including chromium, nickel, and molybdenum, can be reused, promoting sustainability and reducing waste in industrial applications.
No, Super Duplex Steel Round Bars typically do not require additional corrosion protection coatings, as their high chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content provides excellent inherent corrosion resistance in harsh environments.
