Luois Metals is a recognized distributor of Haynes 282 bars and rods, designed for high-performance applications at high-temperature, high-stress conditions. Based in Houston, we provide aerospace, defense, and energy industries with precision-machined bars and rods that are AMS and ASTM compliant to the strictest standards. Haynes 282 is a nickel alloy superalloy that exhibits high creep strength, thermal stability, and weldability, suited for gas turbines and combustion systems. Our in-house capabilities and focus on quality assure you of receiving materials that perform consistently under stress. Rely on Luois Metals for innovative alloy solutions and timely customer service.
Haynes 282 is a nickel alloy with 57% nickel, 20% chromium, 10% cobalt, 8.5% molybdenum, 2.1% aluminum, and 1.5% titanium. It provides great creep strength, thermal fatigue resistance, and is weldable with ease in comparison to other gamma-prime strengthened alloys. Tensile strength is generally 1000 MPa (solution treated + aged) with yield strength of approximately 725 MPa and 20–30% elongation. Mechanical stability up to 1260°C (2300°F) is offered by Haynes 282. It meets the requirements of AMS 5977 and ASTM B637 specifications, thus proving to be extremely dependable for hot section aerospace and turbine use.
Haynes 282 bars typically come in both rough and smooth finishes. The rough finish is usually as-rolled, while the smooth finish is achieved through processes like machining or polishing.
Yes, Haynes 282 rods can be customized in both size and length according to specific requirements, ensuring optimal performance for various applications and industries. Customization options vary by supplier.
Haynes 282 bars and rods offer exceptional strength, oxidation, and corrosion resistance in high-temperature environments, maintaining stability up to 1,800°F (982°C), making them ideal for aerospace and turbine applications.
Haynes 282 bars and rods are for high-performance turbine and aerospace engine parts like combustors, nozzles, transition ducts, and afterburners. The alloy is perfect for long service at higher temperatures, including thermal cycling and high-stress applications. It‘s applied in power generation gas turbines, heat shields, and combustion chambers. It is also good at weldability, making it applicable for the production of complex structures. Other applications for Haynes 282 include petrochemical processing, industrial furnaces, and supercritical steam boilers. Its combination of strength, oxidation resistance, and weldability makes it the best material for next-generation engine technology.
