We provide Haynes 230 products in a range of diameters and lengths, made in accordance with AMS and ASTM standards. Luois Metals provides added-value services such as cutting, heat treatment, and documentation to assist with key applications. Partner with us for superior high-temperature alloy solutions designed to meet your project requirements.
Haynes 230 bars and rods consist of approximately 97% nickel with other key elements consisting of chromium (21%), tungsten (3%), and iron (0.4%). There are also trace amounts of aluminum (0.5%) and cobalt (1.0%). The alloy provides outstanding resistance to oxidation and thermal stability at elevated temperatures. Mechanical properties include high strength, excellent weldability, and resistance to carburization. It has tensile strength of 110-130 ksi (758-896 MPa), yield strength of 55-75 ksi (379-517 MPa) and elongation of 30-50% and is the best for the high temperature operation in aerospace as well as in power generation applications.

Yes, Haynes 230 rods can be customized in size and length according to specific requirements. Suppliers typically offer customization to meet the needs of various industrial applications.
Haynes 230 bars and rods perform exceptionally well in high-temperature environments, offering excellent oxidation and creep resistance. They maintain strength and stability at temperatures up to 2,000°F (1,093°C).
To maintain Haynes 230 bars, regularly clean them to prevent corrosion, avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, store in a dry, controlled environment, and perform periodic inspections for any surface damage.
Haynes 230 bars and rods are utilized in high-temperature structural items such as combustor cans, transition ducts, thermocouple sheaths, and gas turbine engine hardware. Its resistance to oxidation also facilitates application in industrial heating, heat exchangers, chemical processing, and aerospace exhaust system applications. In the power generation and nuclear industries, it is employed in reactor components and furnace hardware. Owing to its excellent creep strength, Haynes 230 is best suited for long-life equipment subject to severe temperatures. It also has applications in radiant tubes, kilns, and metallurgical operations demanding very high thermal stability and structural integrity.
