Haynes 188 is a cobalt-nickel-chromium-tungsten alloy with the following typical composition: 39 cobalt, 22 nickel, 22 chromium, 14 tungsten, with trace lanthanum. It has good oxidation resistance up to 2000°F (1093°C), high strength at high temperatures, and good formability. Tensile strength is approximately 1000 MPa, yield strength approximately 450 MPa, and elongation approximately 40%. Brinell hardness is 180–210 HB. Haynes 188 conforms to specifications like AMS 5608 and ASTM B818, making it ideal for thermal–stress and oxidation service components.
