Louis Metals is a reliable Houston-based supplier and producer of Titanium Grade 2 Forgings, providing a superior strength-to-ductility-to-corrosion-resistance balance. Grade 2 titanium is the most commercially available pure titanium with good strength and high weldability. Our forged parts are produced from high–quality raw materials and careful forging processes to provide structural soundness, fine grain structure, and long-term reliability. Louis Metals Titanium Grade 2 Forgings are ideal for high-stakes uses in aerospace, chemical, power, and marine sectors where higher corrosion resistance and mechanical properties are required.
Louis Metals Titanium Grade 2 Forgings contain around 99.2% pure titanium along with traces of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and iron. They provide a good combination of moderate strength (tensile strength of 344–450 MPa) and superior corrosion resistance, especially in oxidizing conditions. Grade 2 titanium is non-magnetic, lightweight, and extremely ductile, thus ideal for cold-forming and welding. Being resistant to high melting at 1660°C and with low thermal expansion, such forgings are ideal for conditions where mechanical stability, thermal resistance, and corrosion protection are essential.

The durability of Titanium Gr 2 forgings is ensured by factors like high corrosion resistance, excellent strength-to-weight ratio, superior fatigue resistance, heat treatment, proper alloy composition, and precision manufacturing processes.
Titanium Gr 2 forgings are commonly used in aerospace, chemical processing, marine, medical, automotive, and power generation industries due to their corrosion resistance, strength, and lightweight properties.
Open-die forging for Titanium Gr 2 components involves shaping the metal by pressing it between two flat dies. It allows for high strength, uniformity, and precise control, making it ideal for complex, large components.
Titanium Grade 2 Forgings are widely utilized in chemical processing applications where their corrosion resistance makes them the preferred option for pressure vessels, reactors, and piping. In the marine application, they are employed in flanges, shafts, and seawater-handling systems. Aerospace applies them in airframe components, ducting systems, and low-stress structural parts. Grade 2 is also commonly used in power generation, desalination, and medical device manufacturing. Its high weldability and fabricatability render it a favorite for made-to-order parts that need to be strong in harsh or wet conditions. These forgings offer flexibility, toughness, and dependability in critical applications.
