Houston, USA-based Louis Metals is pleased to produce and supply Titanium Grade 1 Forgings, which are extremely pure and resistant to corrosion. Grade 1 titanium is the most ductile and soft among commercially pure grades and is extremely formable as well as easy to weld or machine. Our forged items are best suited to industries that need superior chemical resistance along with moderate mechanical strength. Louis Metals guarantees close tolerances and excellent grain structure by precision forging. For use in marine, chemical, or medical purposes, our Grade 1 titanium forgings provide reliable performance, exceptional durability, and repeatable quality for high-stakes applications.
Titanium Grade 1 Forgings consist of 99.5% pure titanium, exhibiting the highest formability and ductility among CP (Commercially Pure) titanium grades. These forgings have a tensile strength of around 240–290 MPa and a high elongation (up to 24%). Having a density of 4.51 g/cm³ and a melting point of 1665°C, they are stable at a range of temperatures. Grade 1 titanium also has excellent corrosion resistance in oxidizing and mildly reducing conditions, such as chlorides and seawater, and is suitable for chemical and marine service applications.

Titanium Grade 1 forgings are commonly used in aerospace, chemical processing, marine, medical, and automotive industries due to their excellent corrosion resistance, lightweight, high strength, and biocompatibility properties.
Titanium Grade 1 forgings are made by heating titanium billets, then shaping them using compressive forces like hammering or pressing, followed by precision machining to achieve the desired specifications.
Open-die forging for Titanium Gr 1 involves compressing heated titanium between flat or contoured dies, allowing metal to deform freely, producing strong, customized components with excellent structural integrity.
Titanium Grade 1 Forgings have a broad application in those industries requiring superior corrosion resistance with moderate strength. In chemical processing, they find applications in heat exchangers, tanks, piping systems, and chlorides- and acid-exposed condenser tubing. In marine industries, seawater-resistant fittings, valves, and shafts are made from them. In the healthcare industry, Grade 1 forgings are utilized in surgical equipment and implant parts because of their biocompatibility and formability. The aerospace industry applies them in low-load structural elements. They are also preferred in desalination plants, power plants, and electroplating applications due to their highest corrosion resistance and fabrication simplicity.
