Titanium Grade 11 Forgings consist mostly of 99.5% titanium along with the addition of 0.12–0.25% palladium. This alloy provides a high corrosion resistance like Grade 7 but with mechanical properties approaching those of Grade 1. It possesses a tensile strength of 240–290 MPa, good ductility, and high elongation rate. Grade 11 is particularly crevice corrosion and pitting resistant, especially in the presence of chlorides. The presence of palladium improves corrosion resistance in low-corrosion atmospheres such as hydrochloric or sulfuric acid, but with good formability, weldability, and structural stability under a range of operating conditions.
