Located in Houston, Texas, Louis Metals is a leading supplier and manufacturer of Inconel 686 bars and rods. High-performance nickel-based alloy Inconel 686 is renowned for its remarkable ability to withstand corrosion in the harshest conditions, such as oxidising, acidic, and hot ones. Our Inconel 686 bars and rods are designed for strength and dependability, making them perfect for vital applications in sectors like power generation, pollution control, chemical processing, and the maritime industry. At Louis Metals, we guarantee that each product satisfies exacting international standards and provides unparalleled performance, accuracy, and durability for the most demanding engineering settings.
Nickel (more than 59%), chromium (19–23%), and molybdenum (15–17%) make up the majority of Inconel 686 Bars/Rods, with trace amounts of tungsten, iron, cobalt, and niobium. Superior corrosion resistance is provided by this alloy, particularly in oxidising and acidic environments. It has a yield strength of about 360–430 MPa and a tensile strength of about 760–830 MPa. In addition to having outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, Inconel 686 maintains its high mechanical strength at high temperatures. The alloy retains structural stability under mechanical and thermal stress and is readily weldable.

Industries that need high corrosion resistance and strength in harsh environments frequently use Inconel 686 Bars and Rods. Heat exchangers, pressure vessels, chemical processing apparatus, flue gas desulfurization systems, and marine hardware are examples of common applications. The alloy is perfect for waste treatment and pollution control systems because it works particularly well with strong acids like nitric, sulphuric, and hydrochloric acid. Inconel 686 works remarkably well in high-salinity, chloride-rich environments for both offshore and marine applications. It is a dependable material for extreme industrial use because of its strength, weldability, and resistance to a wide range of corrosive media.

We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
