Alloy Steel F9 Bars contain about 9% chromium and 1% molybdenum, in addition to carbon, manganese, and silicon. These constituents give greater strength, resistance to oxidation, and stability at high temperatures. The bars have a typical tensile strength of 620 MPa and yield strength of approximately 310 MPa. Creep resistance is improved by the increased content of molybdenum, while corrosion resistance in steam and oxidizing conditions is enhanced by chromium. F9 alloy bars also have good weldability and toughness, particularly following the proper heat treatment, and retain structural integrity following sustained exposure to high pressures and temperatures.
