About 16–18% chromium, 6–8% manganese, 2–4% nickel, and trace amounts of nitrogen, silicon, and carbon make up Nitronic 30 Bar and Rod. The resistance to corrosion and abrasion is greatly increased by this composition. Nitronic 30 has good impact toughness, excellent elongation (above 35%), and a minimum tensile strength of about 620 MPa and a yield strength of about 275 MPa. It is a good option for heavy-duty and high-stress industrial applications because, in contrast to conventional stainless steels, it offers superior work-hardening rates while retaining excellent weldability and formability.
